Here's How You Can Assemble A Bugatti Bolide At Home – HotCars

The Lego Technic Bugatti Bolide is a brick masterpiece that can be assembled by hand from the comforts of one’s home
Big boys play with big toys. Cars aren’t exactly toys, but gearheads – men and women alike – love the smell of oil, gas and even electric chargers. They do more than just driving their cars in the most enjoying and thrilling ways they could; they also try to tinker with them if possible.
Nevertheless, it’s very cost-prohibitive to build a car from scratch. Carmakers even have to spend millions of dollars to develop and build a new vehicle. Even the actual assembly of a car costs money and resources. But of course, determined individuals would be difficult to stop.
But building a car like the Bugatti Bolide out of one’s garage is next to impossible. However, it is possible to build a tinier version of what Bugatti regards as the most extreme car it has ever created. Not only that, an individual without any mechanical knowledge would be able to assemble the extremely lightweight Bolide at their comfort of their home, at any part of their house.
Thanks to Lego, it is now possible to assemble a Bugatti Bolide at one’s own home. The new Lego Technic Bugatti Bolide is a miniature version of the track-only supercar, but in plastic block form. Anyone can bring out the kid in them with this Lego model of the Bolide.
Lego's sets are usually for kids. Aside from being toys that children can build and play to enjoy, Lego are also beneficial in bringing out their adventurous side. Lego can enhance their creativity, imagination and spatial awareness. Children may feel a strong sense of achievement after creating something out of Lego bricks.
Interestingly, Lego also offers a line that involves specialized pieces. These pieces – typically based from a real-world vehicle, plane or machinery – allow builders to assemble more complex models. Called Lego Technic, these assembly kits may feature functioning gearboxes, wheels and axles, thereby helping builders to better understand the intricate elements of a car, plane, motorcycle, or a construction vehicle.
Not all cars, however, can be a Lego Technic model. The Lego Group typically partners with a company to introduce a Technic version of their vehicle. The company had partnered with Bugatti previously, releasing the Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron in 2018.
This Lego kit – containing 3,599 pieces and is suitable for builders aged 16 years old and up — features a small replica of the Chiron’s W16 engine; a Technic fully functioning eight-speed gear box; an active rear wing that could change its position; as well as an elaborate cockpit copying the supercar’s authentic interior.

Lego, however, has stopped production of the Technic Bugatti Chiron, retiring it from its Technic offerings. But Bugatti fans don’t have to worry with the arrival of the Technic Bugatti Bolide. Just like the Chiron, the Bolide is an exceptional car, although it can only run on the track.
Unveiled in 2021, the Bolide quickly attracted the attention of interested buyers. It only took days before Bugatti closed the order books, since it managed to sell all 40 examples of the Bolide. Each of these radically light track-oriented Bugatti machines costs around $5 million, with an initial batch of deliveries already set in 2024.
A real Bugatti Bolide could be too expensive and too few to easily acquire. But those who can’t the real thing may opt for the Lego Technic Bugatti Bolide, which continues a partnership between the Lego Group and Bugatti that started with the Chiron.
Now available in all international markets at official retailers, the Lego Technic Bugatti Bolide reimagine the track-only supercar as plastic brick replica. Interestingly, several parts and details of the Bolide have made their way into its Lego Technic counterpart. This means that kids (nine years old and above) and adults can assemble the track-only Bolide at the comforts of their home.

Essentially a scale recreation, the Lego Technic Bugatti Bolide measures around 12” in length, 5” in width and over 3” in height. It has far fewer pieces than the Technic Bugatti Chiron, as only has 905 pieces to assemble.
Nevertheless, assembling the Technic Bugatti Bolide could be intimidating because of the number of pieces involved, but builders don’t have to worry since there is a guide (with 154 pages) that’s downloadable from Lego’s website.
While it does have fewer pieces than the Technic Bugatti Chiron, the black-and-yellow Technic Bugatti Bolide is still packed full of intricate details as well as immersive touches. It comes with a detailed W16 engine with moving pistons, a detailed cockpit with turntable steering wheel, scissor opening doors, as well as aerodynamic rims with low-profile tires.
Even the numerous air ducts and front end — including the famed Bugatti horseshoe grille – made their way into the Lego version. There is also a large scoop that “feeds” air to the W16 engine, curves gently into a stabilizing tailfin. On the rear, the Technic Bugatti Bolide comes with a fixed rear wing and an X-shaped taillight. Completing the visual signature are wheel arch-mounted vents and X-motifs in sticker form.
